COOLANT

Today’s Tier 4 engines place higher demands than ever on cooling systems. Formulated to resist deposit buildup, liner cavitation and other problems that arise in extreme conditions, our coolant provides superior protection for all engines. Beat the heat with coolant from CNH Industrial.

Staying Cool

Coolant is the fluid that flows through an engine’s cooling system, absorbing heat from the engine block and cylinders and releasing it in the radiator. This helps to prevent the engine from overheating.

But that’s not all. Coolant is designed to resist freezing and boiling, so it can work under a wide range of temperatures. Its chemical makeup also helps to prevent corrosion and wear throughout the system. And in many vehicles, hot coolant from the engine warms the heater core, which provides heat to the cabin.

Overheating is a common source of engine problems. In milder cases, it causes excessive wear and loss of power, partly because it inhibits the ability of engine oil to lubricate moving parts. At the extreme, it can cause the cylinders to seize and the engine block and cylinder heads to crack — a disaster!

Using spent coolant or the wrong coolant can cause a host of problems, too. Your cooling system can suffer excess corrosion, leaks, damage to the radiator and liner cavitation.

What’s Liner Cavitation?

Engine vibration can create microscopic bubbles in the coolant that attach to cylinder liners. These bubbles can implode with powerful, concentrated force against the liners, blasting small holes in them. The result is liner cavitation. The worse it gets, the more it allows coolant to enter the engine oil. You can guess what happens next: The intrusion of coolant inhibits lubrication, which leads to excess friction, which leads to damage that ends in... disaster!

Many coolants don’t provide adequate protection against liner cavitation. Our coolant offers superior protection by covering internal parts with a robust film that takes the abuse of implosions. Add a crucial line of defense against premature engine failure with coolant from CNH Industrial.

Extended-Life OAT Coolant/Antifreeze (Heavy-Duty)

Extended-Life OAT Coolant/Antifreeze provides superior high-temperature protection in extreme conditions. Based exclusively on a synergistic combination of Organic Additive Technology (OAT), this long service life coolant/antifreeze protects cooling system metals — including brass, copper, solder, steel and cast iron — against rust, corrosion and deterioration, while fighting deposit buildup and cylinder liner cavitation. Suitable for all heavy- and light-duty diesel, natural gas and gasoline engines, Extended-Life OAT Coolant/Antifreeze is the only coolant able to protect all generations of equipment.

IAT Coolant 11 (Conventional)

IAT Coolant 11 provides exceptional summer cooling and excellent protection against freezing in winter. Recommended for diesel, gasoline and natural gas engines, this advanced formula comes fully charged with supplemental coolant additives (SCAs), eliminating the need for them at refill or top off.

Don’t Mix Coolants

Check your vehicle’s service manual to ensure that you use the OEM-recommended type of coolant. Mixing OAT and IAT coolants will harm performance and could lead to overheating, increased corrosion and deposit buildup in the cooling system.
